Vienna and Copenhagen have taken center stage in recent news as they both have topped two noteworthy global charts this year!
In mid-August, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) launched their annual list of the most liveable cities in the world and to no surprise, Vienna and Copenhagen made the top 10 out of the 140 cities reviewed for 2018! Various important qualities were considered in determining a city’s ranking including stability, healthcare, culture, environment, education, and infrastructure. Vienna, Austria received a ranking of 99.1% which earned it the number 1 spot on the list! The EIU attributes Austria’s rise to the top to stability, and in turn, an increased security score.
Copenhagen, Denmark followed in the ninth spot, with a very impressive score of 96%.
Additionally, the Reputation Institute released its top 10 list of most reputable cities for 2018. Again, Vienna and Copenhagen are among the top 10! The Reputation Institute ranks cities based on key measures of a city’s reputation, including people’s willingness to visit, live, work, study, and invest in that particular destination. All of these factors taken into account resulted in Copenhagen, Denmark winning third place and Vienna, Austria coming in at the fourth position!
Such top global rankings reinforce the position of both destinations as major hubs for meetings and conventions.
